Leominster Food share

We are pleased to support Leominster Food bank with volunteers and donations, and we also have a Food Share, collecting food from supermarkets in town that would otherwise go to waste and being able to share it with people in the community to reduce food waste and help people make ends meet. You can find out more about the Food Bank and how to support it on their facebook page here, and their website here . You can find out more about the Food Share here. Help Refugees

We also support refugees in Northern France. Clean sleeping bags, blankets and small men's clothes can be left at the back of the church to be taken to help refugees.

Primary Schools

There are a number of Primary Schools within the Leominster Team Ministry and members of our church are involved in all sorts of ways.

We have 3 Open the Book teams who go into Ivington Primary, Kimbolton Primary and Orleton Primary to bring Bible stories to life for children (and adults!)

We also regularly welcome school visits into the Priory and run workshops for schools

NOTE: This is currently suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions but we’re hoping we’ll be able to revive it as soon as it is safe to do so.

On the third Sunday of every month we share lunch together in the Priory.

Everyone is welcome to join us at 12.30pm. You can bring any kind of food (hot, cold, vegetables, pudding, salad, soup etc) or something to drink and you can use the church kitchen to prepare or heat food if you need to.

We always have something vegetarian.  If you have food intolerances, let us know or bring something you can eat!

It's a great way to get to know other people and all ages are very welcome - we have a stack of high chairs should you need one!

Holiday Club

Since 2004 during the first week of the school summer holidays the Leominster Priory Holiday Club has provided an incredible week of fun and activities for 100 primary school age children. The children are split into four age-based groups for the five days, each group having a tailor-made fun packed age appropriate programme of activities, including art, drama, craft, music, dance and outside games, from 9.30 till 3pm.  The price includes all activities, drinks, fruit and an event T-shirt for everyone.  Booking forms are usually available from March. Contact the Team Office for more information cofe.leominsterteam@outlook.com

The Forbury

The Forbury Chapel in Church Street is a wonderful listed building which is used as our “church hall” and as a base for the Leominster Team Ministry.

The main hall is available for hire, as are meeting rooms and an office, at reasonable rates. Please visit the website for more details (www.theforburychapel.com).

The manager/caretaker, Anthony Hurdidge, can be contacted directly at:  forburychapel@gmail.com

Shoebox Appeal

The annual Shoebox Appeal went ahead this year, despite the COVID pandemic and all the restrictions that were imposed.  The lockdown spurred the knitters of Leominster to go into overdrive and a mountain of hats, scarves and gloves were lovingly made.  A small team of volunteers covered the empty boxes with brightly coloured paper, and as usual the Priory family generously donated money and gifts.

Of course with the second lockdown the usual communal packing of the boxes could not go ahead, so we filled them all at home, which was quite a challenge, but an enjoyable one!

Donations for shoeboxes were received from local schools, Ivington and Stoke Prior, in lieu of their usual harvest gifts, so in total 110 boxes were filled with stationery, hygiene items, hats, gloves and scarves as well as toys and sweets, which were handed over to Teams4U charity to start their journey to vulnerable children in Romania.

These shoeboxes bring such joy into rather bleak existences and have an ability to let a child know that someone, somewhere, cares for them, enough to send them this precious gift.  So thank you everyone who helped to make this possible.
